M.V. Fugro Galaxy - Delivery of New-Build Survey Vessel
On 1st March 2011, Fugro formally took delivery of a new-build vessel, M/V Fugro Galaxy; the second of Fugro’s FSSV series of dedicated survey vessels. Designed to Fugro specifications and fitted with the latest survey equipment these are the most advanced vessels of their type.
The new vessel will be able to carry out the full range of site and route survey tasks to obtain the high resolution data necessary for safe, efficient and cost-effective planning, design and engineering activities for the installation of pipelines, platforms, manifolds, wind turbines and other seabed structures.

On 23rd November 2010, Fugro Galaxy was launched in Fassmer GMBH Shipyard in Bremen. She will now continue the final fit out process followed by extensive sea trials in the New Year, with formal delivery later in February 2011.

Chevron North Sea Ltd, as operator of the Rosebank discovery on behalf of its coventurers Statoil (U.K.) Ltd, OMV (U.K.) Ltd and DONG E&P (UK) Ltd has contracted Fugro Survey Limited to undertake geophysical, geotechnical and environmental surveys for the potential Rosebank development project.
