QHSE

Policies

Although Fugro Survey Limited has two full-time QHSE staff professionals, all staff recognise that the drive to minimise risks and achieve maximum customer satisfaction is sponsored at director level and is fully supported by management and supervisors at all levels. This is clearly evident in the Company's policies

Comprehensive Quality and HSE Policies are contained within the IMS. These policies display a clear commitment from the company to uphold the highest standards of QHSE ensuring customer satisfaction and no harm to any person or the environment. These policies are reviewed as a minimum annually by the Managing Director and the Senior Management team. Policies are issued to all members of staff during their induction process and are also posted around the offices and vessels on notice boards. Personnel are notified of any changes to policy through a revision to the IMS, electronic email notification and discussion at departmental/site meetings.

Auditing

Planned, systematic and documented audits are conducted on a periodic basis on all activities that have a bearing on the achievement of the Company's QHSE objectives. The objectives of internal audit are to:

  • determine the adequacy and effectiveness of the systems, practices, procedures and instructions established in accordance with the provisions of the IMS;
  • provide an objective evaluation of compliance with the systems, practices, procedures and instructions established;
  • assess the performance of processes that produce and control the products or services and the compliance of these processes with specified technical and quality requirements.

Audits are carried out by IRCA trained auditors from within the QHSE department. Audit results are documented in reports to management who take prompt action to correct any deficiencies revealed and to preclude repetitions. All audit scheduling, reporting, corrective action and follow up are tracked through the companies Q-Pulse database system.

Initial audits are carried out on vessels prior to their acceptance for projects and annual operational audits are conducted on all permanently rigged vessels. In addition the Party Chief conducts mobilisation and operational HSE checks during projects

Our annual QHSE plan outlines our proposed actions for the year ahead and specific targets for QHSE management and performance. The company maintains a hierarchy of reporting which ensures that QHSE related issues are monitored at all levels of the organisation.
